This policy explains what personal information Merci Ltd, trading as Purnext, collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to de.purnext.com and to enquiries and orders placed through it.

Merci Ltd is the organisation responsible for the personal information described here. Under the European General Data Protection Regulation we are the “controller” of that information.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry or request a quote. Your name, company name, email address, phone number, the product you asked about, and anything else you choose to put in the message.
When you place an order. Your billing and delivery address, contact details, what you ordered, and any delivery instructions you give us. Card details are handled directly by our payment provider and are not stored on this website.
If you create an account. Your username, email address, an encrypted version of your password, and your order history.
Automatically, as you browse. Your IP address, the country it suggests you are in, your browser and device type, the pages you visit, and the page that referred you. We use the country to decide whether to show prices in New Zealand dollars or euros.
Cookies
This site uses cookies and similar browser storage for a small number of jobs:
- Necessary — keeping the contents of your cart, keeping you signed in if you have an account, and protecting forms against abuse.
- Preferences — remembering the language you chose and the currency shown to you.
- Your own lists — wishlist and product comparison selections are stored in your browser rather than on our servers.
At the time of writing this site does not run advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site — the cart in particular — will not work properly without the necessary ones.
Why we use your information
We use it to answer your enquiry, prepare quotes, take and deliver orders, provide after-sales service and warranty support, keep the tax and business records we are required to keep, and to keep the website working and secure.
If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal bases are: performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering one; our legitimate interests in running and securing the business; compliance with a legal obligation; and your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who else sees it
We share information only where it is needed to do the job, and only with:
- our web hosting and email providers, who store and transmit the information on our behalf;
- our payment provider, where you pay by card;
- couriers and freight companies, so that your order can be delivered;
- service partners who carry out repairs or warranty work on equipment, where that is what you have asked for;
- our accountants and professional advisers; and
- anyone we are required to disclose it to by law.
Where your information is held
Purnext supplies customers in both New Zealand and Germany, so information may be held or accessed in either country, and by service providers in other countries. The European Commission has recognised New Zealand as providing an adequate level of data protection, which allows personal information to move from the EEA to New Zealand. Where information goes somewhere without that recognition, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and quotes are kept while there is a live interest in them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Order, invoice and tax records are kept for at least seven years, because New Zealand tax law requires it. Account details are kept until you ask us to close the account.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. If you are not satisfied with how we handle that, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you can also ask us to erase information, restrict or object to how we use it, and provide it in a portable form. You have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
To exercise any of these, email Info@de.purnext.com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and we will respond within the time the law allows.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to order and enquiry records is limited to people who need it, and passwords are stored in encrypted form. No website can promise perfect security, but if something goes wrong that puts you at risk of serious harm we will tell you and the relevant authority, as the law requires.
Other websites
Where this site links to somewhere else, that site has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for it.
Children
Purnext sells to businesses. This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
